dot button company Inc. is a Tokyo-based experience design firm. Since 2017 we have helped local governments, public institutions, and companies turn overlooked local assets into experiences people can genuinely feel.
Who We Are
We are a small, senior team that plans, designs, and operates projects rather than simply advising on them.
Our work sits at the intersection of public policy and creative practice. A typical engagement begins with a local government or public institution that has a place, a product, or a community it wants to activate — and ends with something running: a park programme people attend, a platform residents register for, a label releasing music, a brand producers actually use. We stay involved through operations, because the projects we care about are the ones that continue after the launch date.

How We Are Structured
- In-house plus partners
- We build each project team from a mix of in-house staff and partner companies, scaling the structure to the size and specialism the work requires. Design, web production, and video are handled through this combined model.
- Public-sector experience
- We already respond to public proposals (RFPs) and negotiated contracts from municipalities, and we are familiar with the documentation, reporting, and coordination those engagements involve.
- Long-term operation
- Several of our projects are standing platforms that we have operated continuously for years, including SETAGAYA PORT since March 2021 and SETAOLE LABEL since October 2022.
